- The Eiffel Tower is a steel structure, and weighs approximately
10,000 tons.
- More than 200,000,000 people have visited the tower since its
construction in 1889 making it the most visited paid monument in the world.
- The tower has two restaurants including Altitude 95, on the first
floor and the Jules Verne on the second floor.
- Gustave Eiffel engraved seventy-two names of French scientists,
engineers and other famous people but they were painted over at the beginning of the twentieth century and restored in 1986–1987.
